State accountability and responsibility
States have an obligation to (1) prevent, (2) protect, (3) prosecute, (4) punish and (5) provide reparations for human rights violations, including violence against women and other forms of discrimination, whether perpetrated by private persons or public actors.
At MRA, we focus our efforts on promoting State accountability and responsibility for these obligations, through projects designed to monitor and document the responses of public actors and assess the performance of the State in women’s rights issues.
