Monitoring the Justice System

In Morocco, we monitor key public services, including the health care, law enforcement and justice systems, to identify trends and assess their performance in cases of violence against women.  Through sector specific monitoring protocols to collect, record, organize and analyze information, this initiative aims to identify deficiencies in the current State response to such violence and promote good practices among all systems actors.

The results of our monitoring and documentation are used to inform and strengthen our legislative advocacy.

Our practical tools for monitoring and documentation are available here.

In Morocco and Tunisia, our online observatories of court decisions in women’s rights cases are designed as interactive, dynamic, and practical tools for research and monitoring. The trilingual databases (Arabic, French and English) contain a variety of judicial decisions from local courts across both countries, through a participatory and sharing-based approach to building the site.
